Clinical Liaison
Reports to: Hospital CEO
Job summary: Serves as clinical liaison for selected service lines serving as an intermediary between hospital and referral sources.
Qualifications:
1) Nursing or clinical degree preferred.
2) A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in healthcare and/or medical industry.
3) Strongly prefer proven track record with business development/community education activities.
Job responsibilities:
1) Develops and maintains relationships with providers and relevant agencies to facilitate appropriate referrals to the hospital. The clinical liaison person must be adept at consistently achieving high satisfaction levels with patients, their families, and the referring entity.
2) Closely communicates with other facilities and relevant personnel in verifying referrals, completing screenings, and related matters. Clearly explains care options to patients, their families, and the referring entity.
3) Reviews medical records, conducts screenings and, pending provider approval, establishes an individual’s eligibility for care based on the hospital’s capacity and resources.
4) Coordinates with referring healthcare facility staff to ensure that each patient has a smooth transition to the relevant hospital service.
5) Verifies health insurance coverage for referred patients.
6) Coordinates communication between the hospital, patients, their families and the referring entity on a regular and as-needed basis.
7) Schedules speaking engagements at community events to educate participants on the services available at hospital.
8) Coordinates hospital tours and provides education as appropriate for prospective patients, their families, and the referring entity.
9) Represents the hospital at seminars and conferences as a community education strategy.
10) Keeps hospital administration and relevant department leaders updated on key issues of concern, key developments, and changes.

1) Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
2) Completes annual educational requirements as required.
3) Maintains patient confidentially at all times.
4) Wears identification badge while on duty.
5) Complete responsibilities within designated time.
6) Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner in the community.
7) Complies with organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
8) Communicates the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital
