Wound Care/Treatment Nurse RN
Essential Responsibilities:
Treatment Room Responsibilities:
1. Perform and manage all nurse-administered injections that were previously completed in the clinic.
2. Conduct and assist with procedures including wound care, dressing changes, injections, IV starts, catheterizations, and all other treatment room orders.
3. Maintain a sterile and safe environment, ensuring adherence to infection control policies.
4. Document all procedures accurately in the patient’s medical record.
5. Coordinate patient flow and communicate effectively with physicians and other departments.
6. Obtain authorizations on procedures when indicated.
7. Document on all procedures, injections, etc.
Wound Care Responsibilities:
8. Lead the Wound Care Clinic one day per week and/or as needed.
9. Serve as the facility’s wound care expert for both inpatients and swing bed patients.
10. Conduct weekly wound rounding on all swing bed patients and additional PRN visits.
11. Complete comprehensive skin assessments, including photo documentation, on all new swing bed admissions.
12. Provide wound care consultations for inpatients only when nursing staff has a clinical question or needs guidance on wound management.
13. Document on all.
14. Responsible for the growth and development of assigned service lines through ongoing promotion, relationship-building, strategic planning, and operational support. Actively works to identify opportunities, increase patient volume, and enhance service visibility and utilization within the community and referring provider networks."
Outpatient Infusion Support:
15. Provide outpatient infusions during regularly scheduled hours
16. If blood products are pending, initiate IV access, complete consents, and prepare the patient until 16:30. This can involve outpatient area or med surge area. Whichever is more convenient for the patient.
17. Coordinate with other staff and report off appropriately if pulled away for scheduled injections.
18. Maintain flexibility and communication to ensure seamless transitions of care between infusion and treatment responsibilities.
Team Expectations:
19. Actively participate in a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.
20. Communicate changes in availability clearly to support efficient patient scheduling.
21. Step away from ongoing tasks as needed to accommodate urgent injections or procedures, with appropriate handoff and follow-up.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Arkansas
2. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
3. 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in outpatient, wound care, or infusion therapy settings.
4. Strong organizational, assessment, and clinical judgment skills.
5. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: DESCRIPTION

1. EDUCATION Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
2. LICENSURE RN
3. EXPERIENCE At least two years’ experience in healthcare.
4. SKILLS Experience working with an EMR system. Excellent attention to detail; able to maintain complete and accurate documentation of all patients related to activities. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Highly motivated, results-oriented with strong skills in customer service, organizing and multi-tasking. Flexible to handle fluctuating workloads and tasks.
5. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Excellent written and verbal communication
Skills. Ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with patients and healthcare professionals.
6. PHYSICAL EFFORT
Requires finger dexterity, eye/hand coordination and full range of body motion including the ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull and grasp items and stand and walk for extensive periods of time; the ability to lift and move equipment/supplies (0-25 pounds) with proper technique and accessories. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting patients with mobility needs as required. Requires corrected vision and hearing in normal range.
7. HOURS OF WORK Monday –Friday with extended hours as needed.
8. HAZARDS Exposure to chemicals, machinery, and blood borne pathogens that requires the use of personal protective equipment, i.e., masks, gowns & gloves.

9. COMPETENCE FOR SPECIFIC
PATIENT POPULATION: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescence, Adult and Geriatric

10. INFECTION CONTROL:
Ability to comply with department specific controls implemented to reduce the risk of acquiring and transmitting infections within the healthcare setting. The controls may include, but are not limited to, immunity to certain vaccine preventable diseases, screening for tuberculosis infection or disease, the ability to utilize indicated personal protective equipment and attendance at appropriate training
